Video Tutorial: Techniques – Spiral Staircase

In this video tutorial I demonstrate Spiral Staircase stitch. This is one of the most beloved of beadwork stitches for many reasons. It’s so easy and versatile and the resulting effect is delightfully satisfying. Once you’ve had a go at this you will be reaching for your stash to experiment with colour combinations and different sizes and shapes of beads, and even varying the numbers that you pick up!

Make a short length for a bracelet or lengthen it for a necklace – what could be simpler?  What’s more, you don’t have to leave it as a simple rope; a Spiral Staircase rope will complement a beaded pendant beautifully. I guarantee you’ll be addicted to this technique in no time!

In this video I’m wearing:

  • Morgan Le Fay necklace in the Golden Shadow/Crystal Copper colourway. I teach the Morgan Le Fay necklace as a 2-day workshop, and Morgan Le Fay Kits are also available in Crystal CAL/Padparadscha, Golden Shadow/Crystal Copper, Jet/Light Siam, Antique Pink/Amethyst. They’re not in the shop yet, but they will be available soon. Email me for further information.
