Eclectica!

Eclectica! As always, when I finish a project (no really, joking aside) I am hungry to start something fresh, but I know I’ve always got tons of UFOs crying out to be completed. But having promised myself, for such a long time, that I wanted to work more elaborately with those fabulous Swarovski Rivolis, at last I gave it a go, thinking I’d do a couple and just play.

I worked one with 11ºs and it looked like a little wheel. I set it aside and started on another, using 15ºs, which changed the counting sequence and I explored a different stitch for this one. But it carried on until I had a rather eclectic mix of twinkling wheels in different sizes, each one different from the rest. As they sat together on my work station, they said “Join us, we were meant to be together”. It only remained to arrange them in a comfortable, random way and make a clasp.

The rivoli components are solid like thick coins and the bracelet is fun and easy to wear. The only problem I’ve got is deciding which part I want on display whilst I’m wearing it!

Pictured here are some new versions I’ve been working on lately, with different sized chatons and crystals.

Eclectica beaded necklace by Melanie de MiguelI’ve now added an Eclectica! necklace to my collection, made using all of the samples I worked whilst writing the Workshop. I adore wearing it!
