As we were re-decorating our bedroom a few years back it struck me that I really ought to leave my beady mark there in some way.
As we built all the cupboards ourselves, we had to choose all the fittings and I couldn’t find anything remotely satisfactory in the colour scheme. I wanted to bead the stair balustrade, but after some stern looks from him indoors and mutterings of “never get finished”, I reluctantly agreed. So there was only one thing to be done! Bead the doorknobs. Our eldest daughter liked the idea so much I had to make some pink/purple ones for her bedroom. As she’s now grown out of those colours, our youngest daughter got her mitts on them, and they adorn her bedroom wall as hangers. (NB: I will do the stairs one day!)
