Having my beads with me whilst in Spain in 2008, kept me from going into total meltdown. I went there to meet family, which was amazing but also a traumatic emotional roller coaster. The only way I could get to sleep was to bead away until my eyelids grew heavy. Having made a tiny beaded keepsake box for my little Spanish niece, I only had 9 of each crystal colour left, although I still had a tube of gold size 15 seed beads, so I set myself a mini challenge to make something that used up all the crystals. So this is it; out of necessity came this simple rosette. I worked it in other colours when I got back home, and found that the most pleasing design was when I used darker crystals for the outer ring.
